How to Choose a Corporate Magician for a London Event

Planning a corporate event in London? The entertainment needs to do more than fill a slot in the schedule. It should help people relax, start conversations and give them something to talk about afterwards.

That is why close-up magic can work so well at a drinks reception, networking event or company party. But not every magician will suit every occasion. Here are the questions I would ask before making a booking.

Will the magic fit naturally into your event?

Think about when your guests will benefit most. At a reception, a magician can move between small groups while people are arriving. During a networking event, those shared moments can make introductions easier. If you have a seated dinner or speeches, ask how the performance will work around them without interrupting the flow.

Will it feel right for your audience?

Corporate guests have seen plenty of entertainment. I perform TECH Magic using the mobile phones they already have in their hands. It is close-up, interactive and contemporary—and it gives guests a personal part in the experience. The goal is not to pull everyone away from the event. It is to add moments that make the event itself more memorable.

Can the performer handle the room?

A polished demonstration video is useful, but ask to see the magician working with real guests. Look at the reactions and how comfortably they move from one group to another. For a larger event, ask what is realistic in the time available. A magician cannot perform for 150 people individually in an hour, but can create memorable moments across the room when the schedule is planned well.

What practical details do you need to agree?

Tell the performer the venue, guest numbers, timings and the shape of the evening. Close-up TECH Magic usually needs no stage or complicated AV setup, which makes it easy to add to a reception or party. It is still worth discussing sound levels, lighting and where guests will be gathering.

Could you create a bigger arrival moment?

For some events I also work alongside D4RYL, the humanoid robot. D4RYL welcomes guests, dances and becomes an instant photo opportunity, while I perform close-up TECH Magic around the room. They are two distinct experiences within one booking—particularly effective when you want guests engaged from the moment they arrive.

The best choice is not simply the magician with the longest list of tricks. It is the one who understands what you want your guests to feel and can work with your event, not against it.

If you are planning a London corporate event, tell me the date, venue, guest numbers and what you have in mind. I can suggest where TECH Magic would fit best—and whether D4RYL would add something special to the occasion.
